Breast Implants
Breast Implants are prostheses containing silicone, which are used to fill the breast after breast augmentation or mastectomy, that is, after mastectomy in the treatment of breast cancer. There are various types of these prostheses, which can be different types according to their content, and they can be different types according to their structure. The invariable part of these silicone prostheses are the outer layers, the silicone envelope layers. There may be silicone gel in it or it may be medical water, which we call serum physiology. Apart from that, there are round shaped ones, they have anatomical shapes known as drops among the people. Apart from that, there are prostheses with a different surface, rough, soft or covered with a sponge-like structure on the outside. Why are we using this? Our primary use is for breast augmentation surgeries. These are the tools we use in women who are congenitally, developmentally underdeveloped and small, or women who have sagging breasts due to weight gain and loss after giving birth and who want to enlarge their breasts with recovery. Apart from that, it can be done simultaneously, that is, in the same session with mastectomy, or in a later period, one year or two years after the surgery, after the breast was removed due to breast cancer. These surgeries are also performed by placing a silicone prosthesis.
